Optimize the Post Title in Real Time Search Google Blogger

It is very important to have a site "seo friendly" as well as a blog.
The first think we learn about the SEO is the funcion of the meta tags, in particular of the title, and the importance to have the relevant keywords at the beginning of our tags.

By default Blogger put the name of our blog before the post title but we can in any moment change and optimize it; infact we can decide to have the post title before our blog name or only the post title alone.

If you want now to change it you have to open your blog setting click on Layout and select Edit HTML .
Than you have to search for the meta title default:

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

and modify it with one of the two below.

If you want to have the post title before your blog name

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'>
<title><data:blog.pageName/> - <data:blog.title/></title>
<b:else/>
<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>

In this case you can also reach a "branding goal" cause your blog name will appear in the search results.

If you want a title composed only by the post title alone :

<title><data:blog.pageName/></title>
<b:else/>
<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>

Now you can save the setting and visulize your blog.

Naughty Birthday Cake Ideas

Google launched today the Real Time Search : since few hours, after our search, we can see a list of live updates from Twitter, FriendFeed but also blog posts and news articles.

The results appears in the first page in a specific space; for example you can find below my Google page after the query "Google real time search".

Click on "Latest results for.." or select "Lastest" from the menu options if you want to visualize only real time updates for your search.
For example, I inserted the keyword "Google" and below my results: a list of tweets, post and news just published.

Obviously this page is update in real time so if you search for a very generic subject you may have a too frenetic page result; for that reason, in every moment you can stop and resume the update.

About the partners Google announced, besides Twitter and FriendFeed also Facebook , Jaiku , Identi.ca e Myspace .

It is intresting and cute also the video explaining the new real time search in a simple and prompt way:

Google and searches in real time

Google annuncia oggi il lancio del Real Time Search : da poche ore è infatti possibile visualizzare, a seguito di una ricerca, gli aggiornamenti pubblicati utenti ad esempio su Twitter e FriendFeed ma anche su blog e siti di notizie.

The results are incorporated into the first page in a window dedicated to updates automatically, for example here is the first page after I search for "real time Google search":

It 'still can refine your search only to "real time results by selecting from the side menu item" Latest ".
For example, I have searched "Google" and here my results will be a list of tweets, titles of posts and announcements have been published:

course page, automatically in real time, it may be, especially for some very general search like mine, a little too frantic.
For this reason, you can stop at any time and return the results to be updated.

Speaking of partners, as well Twitter and FriendFeed , have also been announced Facebook , Jaiku, Identi.ca and Myspace who posted the ad on his blog .

is definitely worth a watch this video about the news in a simple and direct:

Rolling A Neckerchief

A question I have always done, when I'm working with a ext2 / 3 again on larger and larger volumes, is how can a file system virtually unchanged for decades in support of hundreds of GB logical drives without some as "feeling the pinch."

Mentre aspettiamo che Linux si decida ad adottare un filesystem di livello enterprise e con caratteristiche modern, at least we can maximize the performance of ext3 adapting the underlying hardware abstraction with which we operate, typically drive RAID.

We must consider that some RAID levels such as RAID5, suffer delays in writing because of the structural calculation of a tie, arriving at peak performance when you make a writing a full stripe. When creating a RAID volume, you can usually specify the stripe size from a few KB to about 256 KB or more.

ext3 has a couple of parameters that help to optimize the file for writing: stride and stripe-width .

stride is the number of filesystem blocks that are used to write a stripe (in the case of ext3 block is almost always 4 KB).
stripe-width is the amount of blocks that are used to cover a complete writing on all disks that "carry" data, multiple of the stride.
Let me explain with an example: RAID5 uses a distributed parity resulting in a space of n-1 disks, and then with a certain stripe size will be written n-1 stripe that "bring data" disks and a parity stripe and this is the stripe width, and ext3 is measured in blocks and corresponds to stride * (n-1) * blocksize in the case of RAID5. There is a

document Centos ext3 optimization with optimization for RAID in the last paragraph, even if there is any error notation. The fact that stripe-width has been removed from CentOS 5.3 is true, unfortunately for RHEL. I can not explain this fact, when on my Ubuntu desktop is present.

Someone has also created a special calculator that can be found here: ~ http://busybox.net/ aldot / mkfs_stride.html

New U.S. guidelines on screening for cervical cancer

In an article published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine in November 2009, are reported in the American guidelines on screening for cervical cancer. In summary we recommend:
1) does not make the pap test is under 21 years of age, because until this age, the disease is rare, and the presence of reversible disorders often without treatment. Screening under 21 years may lead to inappropriate diagnosis and treatment and essentially useless
2) between 21 years and 29 years, screening is recommended every two years
3) between the age of 30 and 65, screening is recommended every 3 years
§ 4) over 65 years, is not recommended for screening § § § This

in patients who have previously had at least three consecutive Pap tests normal (we exclude women with HIV, with a history of CIN 2-3 and exposure to diethylstilbestrol)

§ § This in patients with at least three consecutive normal Pap tests and no problem in the previous 10 years (we exclude women with multiple sexual partners).

Optimizing Oracle 11gR2 for Solaris SPARC and x86

Today I noticed that they released the version for SPARC x86 and Oracle 11gR2.

is great news for me because I personally appreciate it very much like Solaris sistema operativo in ambito server.

THANKS

As we write we are at one hour after the close of this exhibition.
What about ... weeks have been intense, with physical and mental effort, but definitely rewarding.
Several hundred people have stepped on or touched our Berlin in miniature, we have tried to recreate relying on memories and life experiences in this cradle of the history of the last century.
begin by thanking the sponsors, without whom this exhibition would not have seen the light, and the many visitors who have enriched this place, sharing their stories and their emotions related to the German capital.
Experience, however, will not close today because the December 2 to 9 exhibition will move to the center of Modena.
For details and information on related initiatives, we refer to the next update.

History btrfs

Report this interesting article on btrfs, ZFS filesystem also inspired, created by Oracle and is now part of the Linux kernel, though still developing.

Among the main features, the copy-on-write, even the writeable snapshots, the transactional.

btrfs I was busy in the past, but now the situation has evolved so that Linus Torvalds uses it as a file system in one of his laptop.

FILM REVIEW: Goodbye Lenin!

Friday, November 20, 2009 at 21:00

cultural Polo Villa Gandini, Formigine

Good Bye Lenin! is a 2003 film directed by Wolfgang Becker.

1989. Christiane (Katrin Sass) lives in East Germany and is a convinced socialist. The woman falls into a coma just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. When she wakes up, eight months later, his son Alex tries to avoid the shock and does everything to prevent the mother discovers that the country has "fallen into the hands of the capitalists." A box office hit in Germany. What to do when the story goes on to keep quiet those who thought they were right? Tell lies as were told before. With not a minor difference that we said goodbye to Lenin, but the future is not rosy. Satire well-calibrated to this film that the German (and especially in Berlin) have enjoyed very much. In the movie there is a package of coffee or cigarettes that do not remember their recent past and not pleasant.

OS Watcher

I discovered a few days OS Watcher, a tool of the "center of expertise" of Oracle, because I had to use it to investigate a problem of memory allocation. Actually I was requested by Oracle support, because I personally had no doubts about performance, but only about a potential memory leak . The Watcher doubt is that OS has become a bit 'that the tool is run to ask anyone to support, regardless of his specific problem.

OS Watcher is a collection of shell scripts that use Unix tools to monitor and record what happens to the operating system level, in order to help the DBA to identify any problems that are beyond and between the database and 'hardware.

Installation is simple: just unzip the downloaded osw3b.tar MOS, enter the directory OSW and start collecting data (example):
  $ nohup. / startOSW.sh 60 10

where the first parameter is the sampling time in seconds, and the second parameter is the retention policy of data in hours. The command line that I quoted and then sets the sampling once per minute and remove the files of the sampled data older than 10 hours. It does not need the trailing "&" because the script makes the prompt return immediately. nohup is to avoid that, out of the shell, the main process is halted.
To stop the monitor, run:
  $. / StopOSW.sh

The script automatically detects the presence and accessibility of the Unix utility to control the system as vmstat and top, create a directory and archive will store the data.

Since the last version of 2009 OS Watcher is outsourced with OSWg, Java utility that graphically displays the data recorded.

OS Watcher is still useful to all, regardless of the use of the Oracle database.

Ftse 250 Market Capitalization List

New in 11gR2 Clusterware 11.2

In Release 2 of Oracle 11g have seen huge changes in terms of the sub-clustering, especially for those who install the cluster and a clean machine using ASM as storage for the database (eg those using standard edition). In fact, excluding those who do I upgrade and those who wish to use a cluster file system for the datafile (and thus have enterprise edition), ASM becomes an almost mandatory in my opinion also the best ever.
The new features include OCR and voting disk in particular: using ASM, you no longer need two raw partitions to house them, but Grid Infrastructure stores them as files in ASM.

In ASM filesystem is not only the unique name of the database in standard OFA, also the directory of the cluster (eg test-cluster), containing the SPFILE for ASM and OCR, called REGISTRY .*.* in OFA standard. The cluster name is given during installation.

The number of voting disk redundancy depends on the ASM diskgroup: If the redundancy is external , you can have only one voting disk, if it is normal up to 3, if it is high to 5.
In addition, it appears that the voting disk is saved only one of the disks that make up the disk group , as seen from the "query" following a multi-disk group:
 crsctl $ query css votedisk
# # File Status Universal Disk group
Id File Name - ----- ----------------- --------- ---------
1. ONLINE 17a34e19b0e04ff0bf6b161d8ec83efc (ORCL: ASMDISK1) [DGDATA]
Located 1 voting disk (s).

while the OCR looks more "normal"
 ASMCMD [+ DGDATA / test-cluster / OCRFILE]> ls-l Type
overflowed Striped Time Sys Name
OCRFILE UNPROTO COARSE November 2005 22:00:00 Y REGISTRY. 255.699705373

The documentation clearly says that, with Clusterware 11.2, there is no need to backup the voting disk, because their management is automatic backup included.

Where To Buy Matula Tea

: some changes in the parameters init

Here's a rundown of the most interesting parameters of initializing a 11gR2 instance. Some are new, others were already in 10gR2 but have changed in the behavior or values.
  • audit_trail - default: DB. Once it was NONE, so if you enable it also had to immediately restart the instance.

  • db_block_checksum - default: TYPICAL; new values \u200b\u200bare introduced: OFF, FALSE, TYPICAL, TRUE, FULL where TRUE and FALSE have been kept for compatibility.

  • db_file_multiblock_read_count - default: 128. The documentation says that 1 MB for the multiblock read is a standard value, then you have to use 8K blocks with 128. For OLTP recommended 4 to 16 (old default). As is to avoid reading too many blocks for a single I / O, and then flooding the buffer cache, if you have much RAM is slightly less significant. Its value affects the cost of tablescan.

  • db_securefile - default: Permitted. controls the default behavior of the db when creating the LOB.

  • deferred_segment_creation - default: TRUE; new 11g feature, does not create segments until the first row is not inserted into the database. Traditionally, when you create tables or indexes, is allocated at least the first extent (unless otherwise stated). With 11g, you can delay the establishment of the extent and thus employment up until the first hard data is not written in the table.

  • sec_case_sensitive_logon : TRUE; from the 11g default is to have case-sensitive password to access the database.

Ivan Crico the national prize for poetry

From "Il Piccolo" 11/10/2009

Saturday, October 17 will receive the awards to the winners of the "National Award Biagio Marin" 2009 edition, for nearly two decades the largest prize for poetry in the dialects and minority languages \u200b\u200bin Italy, created to commemorate the work and figure of the great poet of Grado.
A witness recognized the seriousness of the prize, the jury may award, in fact, in addition to the books presented in any other dialect or volume essay published in Italy in the last two years. Over time, the jury was composed from the very beginning, the major Italian poets and scholars, by the late Carlo Bo Franco Brevini, Pietro Gibellini Franco Loi, by Edda Serra Giovanni Tesio. Among past winners are also some of the greatest poets in dialect and scholars of the twentieth century: suffice it to recall only the names of Paolo Bertolani, Enesto Calzavara, Amedeo Giacomini, Franca Grisoni, and for the section devoted to essays, Dante Isella Cesare Segre, Alfredo Stussi.
That given the personality in the course of his work has graced the poem in dialect, and contributed to his knowledge, always with the unanimous opinion, has been awarded to Lucio Felici, which is the premium of the City of Degree of € 2500. Happy is known for his studies of Roman authors in the '300 now and poets of the Treviso region, and in particular Calzavara Zanzotto. Finally, again unanimously, for essays on Biagio Marin and his world, the prize will be awarded to Catherine Conti for the thesis "The diaries and letters of Falco Marin: idealistic enthusiasm and experience in military debated at the University of Trieste.
The award ceremony will be held Grado (GO) 17 October at 17.30 in the Council Chamber of City Hall sal.
